USDT is a stablecoin issued on multiple blockchains. Each blockchain is a separate network. TRC-20 (Tron) has the lowest fees and is fastest — most clients use this. ERC-20 (Ethereum) has the highest fees. BEP-20 (Binance Smart Chain) is in between. The network you send on must match the network the receiving address expects, or your funds may be lost.
What "network" means
USDT is the same currency on every network — one USDT is always worth roughly $1. But the networks themselves are completely separate blockchains, like different countries with different roads. A USDT on Tron (TRC-20) cannot directly travel to a USDT address on Ethereum (ERC-20). The address format is different, the transaction fees are different, and most importantly, sending from one to the other doesn't work the way you might expect.
The three you'll see most
TRC-20 (Tron) is often one of the lower-fee and faster blockchain networks for USDT transfers, making it a popular choice for many nomo clients. However, the exact network fee depends on the wallet or platform you are sending from.
ERC-20 (Ethereum) — highest fees. Use it if your wallet or exchange doesn't support TRC-20.
BEP-20 (Binance Smart Chain) — moderate fees. Common if you're transferring from Binance.
How to choose the right network
1. On nomo, when you start a USDT deposit, you select the network. Choose TRC-20 unless you have a specific reason to use another.
2. nomo gives you a deposit address that is unique to the network you chose. Copy it carefully.
3. On the sending side (your wallet, exchange, or another platform), select the same network when entering the address.
4. Send the funds. The transaction will only succeed if both sides match.
Important notes
If you send on the wrong network, funds may be unrecoverable. nomo cannot guarantee recovery in this scenario.
Each network has a minimum deposit amount that is higher than the absolute minimum, because network fees consume part of the transfer.
When withdrawing, the network you withdraw on doesn't have to match the network you deposited on. Choose what's most convenient on the receiving side.
Troubleshooting
I sent USDT on the wrong network. Can I recover it?
Sometimes. If the receiving address technically exists on the network you sent on (some addresses are valid on multiple chains), recovery may be possible with manual intervention. Contact support immediately with the transaction hash. Don't expect a guarantee.
I sent from Binance and it's been hours with no credit.
Some exchanges withhold withdrawals for additional checks, even after broadcasting the transaction. Check the withdrawal status on the exchange first. If it shows complete on the exchange but isn't on nomo after 30 minutes, contact support.
